SEATTLE, November 23, 2009 – FirstService Real Estate Advisors (FirstService REA) today announced the appointment of Curtis Akey as US Finance Director.
Akey will serve as the primary contact for all finance activities for FirstService REA's business operations in the U.S. In this new role, he will oversee all reporting, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, compliance, analysis and due diligence related to the business expansion of FirstService REA and partner firms operating in the U.S. market, which include Colliers International, FirstService Williams, FirstService PGP, and PKF Consulting.

Akey has nearly twenty years of accounting and finance experience working for a wide variety of businesses ranging from technology to manufacturing firms. Prior to joining FirstService REA, Akey was the CFO for MPC Corporation, a Boise, Idaho-based computer manufacturer. He also held senior financial positions at Bathgate Capital Partners, SeeBeyond TechnologyCorporation, Merrill Lynch and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He earned his MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
